What is Red Rocks Amphitheater?

For those who haven’t been to Red Rocks (shame on you), the amphitheater is known for its stunning landscape but it’s also a known place for people to get some exercise in.

If climbing stairs until your legs burn isn’t your idea of a good time, they also offer Yoga on the Rocks for a small fee of $16 a person. But book now, spaces fill up fast!

But we’re not here to talk just about Red Rocks and all you can do there. it’s about the Origin Hotel Red Rocks and how easy it makes your trips to Golden to visit Red Rocks Amphitheater.

If you’re coming up or down from I-25 on Colorado, you can take I-70 West toward Grand Junction to get to Origin Hotel Red Rocks.

The hotel is located just off I-70 sort of tucked away in a little space near an active mine. Getting to the hotel is a literal breeze if there is no traffic.

You may have coffee in your room, but you won’t find continental breakfast here. No worries though! You’re not far from delightful cafes and restaurants for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The hotel has its own restaurant just downstairs with an impressive and tasty menu. Nomad Taqueria and Beer Garden serves tacos, Patatas Bravas, Esquites, salads, and more. Some other great restaurants that are just steps from the hotel front door are below:

If you don’t prefer any of these options, the complimentary shuttle can take you to downtown Golden where other restaurants are available.

Activities at the Hotel

Guitar in Origin Hotel Red Rocks Lobby

Just outside the hotel is a cozy patio with a stretch of green where you can play a bit of cornhole. But to the back of the patio, there is also a place to sit around a fire pit and lounge beneath the faint starry sky.

You may not see a ton of stars, but at least the evening will be cool. If you are so musically inclined, you can venture to the lobby where a stickered up Fender guitar sits patiently waiting for someone to pluck its strings.

If you’re looking to get out of the area a little, visit the hotel’s “Do List” to see other activities they recommend for visitors!

Hikes Nearby

There is the obvious Red Rocks Amphitheater stair climb that will set your calves on fire for days. But if you are looking for something a little less intense, there are hikes nearby that are just a short walk from the hotel door.

How Far Away is Red Rocks Amphitheater from Origin Hotel Red Rocks?
