8 Photos to Inspire A Visit to the Denver Selfie Museum

Posted: January 29, 2022 by Kelly Branyik

When I told my best friend I wanted to escape to the Denver Selfie Museum this weekend, her literal thoughts were:

“I thought we were just going to go around, drink coffee, and look at pictures of selfies other people took.”

What she, and I, got was a pleasant little fun-filled journey to Stout Street in Downtown Denver, where a little colorful secret resides.

This trip was very reminiscent of our trip to Meow Wolf last year.

So before I get to these images, here are a few FAQs to help you plan your trip!

What to Wear to the Denver Selfie Museum

I will say, I did NOT enjoy the outfit I was wearing for this trip.

My outfit was fine for casual hanging out or for those times when you just really want to look like a grandma, but not for epic photo taking.

Since it was rather discouraging, Bee encouraged me, and herself, to make this a hilarious day of photoshoots.

Rather than focusing too much on body images, we laughed our butts off and decided to be silly instead.

I highly recommend you choose your outfit carefully before attending if you want to take great pictures and feel comfortable.

Be sure to wear something you feel good in! That is the most important thing and more important than being stylish.

Now if you can get stylish and comfy, you should be good to go.

A lot of people wear:

  • Cute dresses
  • Shorts
  • Ripped jeans
  • Knee-high boots
  • Baggy sweaters
  • Heels
  • Chucks
  • Jumpers

The clothing options are endless!

What is the Denver Selfie Museum?

The Denver Selfie Museum is a little fun-packed location that popped up in Denver in September 2020 and made a move to a bigger location this past July 2021.

It is now attracting tons of people to take glamorous and instagrammable photos in well-lit and creative settings. There are 25 little settings to get your gram on in. The cheapest and most colorful photoshoot you’ll pay for.

This is a family-friendly location and great for kiddos. PS, they even allow small dogs too!

How Much Does the Denver Selfie Museum Cost?

The Denver Selfie Museum is actually pretty affordable per person.

My bestie and I paid $29 a person to enjoy an hour’s worth of epic photoshoots. Monday through Friday, tickets are just $25 a person. Saturday and Sunday, plan to pay just $4 more a person.

You can buy tickets online at Denver Selfie Museum and get answers to more FAQs.

Can I Bring a Camera?

Heck yeah!

You can bring your phone, camera, and tripod so you can capture the entire experience.

I took my little Sony a6000 and it was perfect. Also, don’t worry about bringing a ring light or anything, ring lights, and lighting, in general, are already in place.

Where Can I Find Parking?

There is street parking available, but there is also a parking garage conveniently placed right across the street.

After an hour parked there, we paid just $14.

While street parking is more ideal and inexpensive, it can be scarce in Downtown Denver, so the parking garage across the street is a great and still affordable option.

What is Their Response to COVID-19?

Denver Selfie Museum is taking extra precautions to make sure that their pop-up is safe for guests.

They have made hand sanitizer available and are limiting the number of people allowed in the museum at a time.

Those who are sick are being advised to reschedule for the safety of themselves and others.

Additionally, they are using EPA-grade sanitizers to clean surfaces in the museum. The staff is also very good about wearing masks.

Wish You Could Go to this Selfie Museum? I Have Good News for You!

I didn’t know this, not until my last trip to Seattle when my sister and I stumbled upon the Seattle Selfie Museum. But there are identical selfie museums to this one ALL over the United States.
