It’s that time of year for you nauseatingly adorable couples out there!

If you’re on the search for places to go for Valentine’s Day with bae in the great state of Colorado, there are TONS of fantastic places for you to go to help keep your romance alive and well!

These are some of my favorite places that I thought were both wonderful for the solo traveler or the romantic couple looking to get away.

So feast your heart-shaped eyes on these delightful gems below and start planning your Valentine’s weekend!

1. Royal Gorge Cabins: Canon City, Colorado

Royal Gorge Cabin Living Room

I love the Royal Gorge Cabins is the place to go for Valentine’s day with your sweetheart, and why? Because, for one, the cabins are absolutely adorable, and because they are perfect for the couple looking for a cozy hideaway.

The cabins are situated just outside of Canon City, Colorado near the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. It gives you a beautiful view of the Wet Mountains while the Sangre’s and Collegiates tease from the backside of the mountain.

The cabin comes with its own indoor/outdoor which is perfect for staying warm under the stars or curling up on the couch in front of the TV. Each little cabin has its own little kitchenette where you can make a romantic Valentine’s meal for you and your sweetheart.

And in the morning, you can start your day off with a hot cup of coffee from Pikes Perk in Colorado Springs, and a beautiful sunrise.

And a little side note, the shower is huge!

2. Hotel Frisco: Frisco Colorado

Hotel Frisco - in Colorado

Hotel Frisco may not be the biggest hotel, but it sure is one of the cutest! I stumbled upon this hotel back in January when I was struggling to find affordable places to stay while visiting the Dillon Ice Castles.

I absolutely loved this hotel because it was located right on the main street of Frisco and close to so many cute restaurants, cafes, and shopping options.

Inside, Hotel Frisco is has a cozy cabin theme to reflect the Summit County atmosphere. Onsite, you’ll find 24/7 coffee, stocked minibars with Colorado’s favorite craft beers inside, and a hot tub in case you want to get a good soak in.

Hotel Frisco is inexpensive and within minutes of drive time from Breckenridge where you can do some skiing (if you’re into that sort of thing), visit local bookstores, have cute coffee dates, or take strolls through town in the evening.

3. Escape Campervans: Aurora, Colorado

Make one of your places to go for Valentine’s Day an on-the-road adventure with Escape Campervans (just make sure you can find an open RV Park).

I love this idea for a romantic getaway on Valentine’s Day because it keeps the spontaneity alive for couples, especially young couples who are all about one of a kind adventures.

Escape Campervans come in many different shapes and sizes, but they also come with incredible features you wouldn’t have with your 1987 Chevy Astro.

You have:

  • a 5-gallon pumpable water tank
  • a sink
  • a dual propane stove
  • a heater (if you can find a place to plugin)
  • linens for the bed

Plus, you have the added plus of taking your romance literally to wherever your hearts desire.

Sleeping bags are recommended during this time of year, and you can read more about my trip with Escape Campervans, here.

4. Hotel Talisa: Vail, Colorado

6 Romantic Places To Go For Valentine's Day in Colorado

Hotel Talisa is a little bit up there in price but it’s well worth the luxury! This huge, gorgeous hotel is just off I-70 not far from Denver.

Hotel Talisa has:

  • sizeable rooms
  • a pool
  • hot tub
  • outdoor fireplace, which overlooks the river below.

I love Hotel Talisa for their sizeable rooms, some of which have a walkout patio, but I also love their rooms on the top floor which have their own little cozy nooks you can sit in when the morning begins.

It’s the perfect place for a morning snuggle with your love and whatever hot beverage you need to warm your hands.

During the day, there is plenty for you to do in Vail Village like meandering into unique shops, cafes, and restaurants. If you’re looking to get sporty, you can take a ride up the mountain and do some skiing and snowboarding too.

5. Carr Manor: Cripple Creek, Colorado

Carr Manor in Cripple Creek, Colorado

One of my favorite places to go for Valentine’s day is an unlikely and less heard of place to get away with a loved one, and I think it is severely under talked about. Carr Manor is an old High School renovated into an incredible luxury b&b.

I was SO surprised to find this little gem here in Cripple Creek. The b&b provides you with

  • unbelievable gourmet breakfasts
  • the most delightful king beds with top of the line linens
  • it’s just a short walk to downtown Cripple Creek

What people don’t know about this place is there is an incredible spa suite that you can rent for your romantic getaway and it comes with its very own jetted tub.

You get the soak with the added privacy of it being in your room.

The suite is accommodating, comfy, and romantic enough that you may never leave the place during your whole romantic adventure.

You can also indulge in some of their romantic specials during your stay

6. Surf Hotel: Buena Vista, Colorado

When I first arrived at Surf Hotel, I was surprised to find this place was even in Buena Vista. It had a New Orleans inspired interior and exterior and a luxury feel you won’t find anywhere else in Colorado.

In the lobby, there is a bar and restaurant that you can go to enjoy your nightcaps or your romantic dinners in. You are also just steps from the river and art galleries, shops, and restaurants are just steps from your front door.

I love this place because each floor has its own NOLA inspired wrap around porch and each room has a door that leads to the porch.

The rooms all come with their own little tables and rocking chairs. And from there, you can sit and admire Mount Princeton from afar and hear the rushing river just feet below you.

It is one of the most original and genuine places I have found in Colorado thus far.

Whether it be on the road, in a hotel, or at home, you can make your Valentine’s Day a cozy adventure with the places to go for Valentine’s Day.

7. Joyful Journey Hot Springs and Spa

Joyful Journey in Colorado

Who wouldn’t want to spend an entire weekend away with the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains at your back?

At Joyful Journey, you’re just steps away from relaxation and serenity. Experience one of their three soaking pools in the chill of February and then get some special alone time and R&R in one of their on-site accommodations.
