6 Breweries in Colorado Springs You Must Visit

Breweries are one of my favorite things to do when I go anywhere. I love craft beer and I especially love Colorado Craft Beer.

I got my first brush with craft beer shortly after returning home from Peace Corps China. Before that, I couldn’t drink a domestic brew without dumping a whole can of tomato juice in my mug. I did not enjoy beer very much, even though I still drank it.

I started working for Florence Brewing Company and was introduced to a world of delightful brewed concoctions by incredible scientists who have learned the art of crafting tasty beers.

And from that point on, I was hooked. I did my first All Colorado Beer Fest in Colorado Springs in 2016 and loved every minute of it. That was the year Vail Brewing Company made a Coconut Porter and I couldn’t get enough. I’m still hoping they’ll make it again.

These days, I don’t get to the breweries enough, unless I am traveling around, but that still doesn’t mean I don’t love it. When I do have the opportunity to go to some breweries in Colorado Springs, there are a few places that I recommend visiting. So, below are my favorites.

FH Beerworks (Formerly known as Fieldhouse Brewing Company)

I love FH Beerworks and I love their cozy atmosphere. They are located further down Tejon, but not so far that the walk from brewery to brewery isn’t pleasant.

My favorite brew there is the Sticky Paws honey wheat which also happens to be one of their four flagships.

Fist Pump is another one of their popular ones if you enjoy milk stouts. I also really enjoy the brewery because that have a few good gluten-free beers on tap for those who love beer but don’t want to get sick or die trying to drink it.

Every Wednesday, they tap a new flavor and they have food trucks on-site sometimes, just call to find out when.

Phantom Canyon Brewing Company

Phantom Canyon Brewing Company is a fun place to take large parties for a good night out.

There are three levels to this building, two of which are perfect for get-togethers.

The first and second floors both have bars, but the second floor is where you can play some games of pool or some super fun shuffleboard.

This brewery is equipped with some awesome brewers who craft some awesome flavors. They hold four flagships at all times, one of their popular flavors being the Alpenglow Hefeweizen.

They have a huge beer menu, so take your pick. Make sure to plan for dinner because their food menu is outstanding as well.

Goat Patch Brewing

I cannot stress this enough. If you go to Goat Patch Brewing and they have it, please, PLEASE, get that Goat Patch Punch.

It is one of the best beers I’ve ever had.

But if they don’t have it on tap, don’t worry, this award-winning brewery has plenty of other wonderful brews to choose from.

And not only do they have a bunch of pro brewers whipping out sick flavors, but every Tuesday Night guests can also come in, buy a beer, and help their community. Each brew sold, $1 will go to a local non-profit. So, enjoy your beer and get engaged in the community while you’re at it.

Bristol Brewing

Bristol Brewing Company is housed in an old school known as Ivy Wild, which I always just loved about this place.

The location makes it a unique place for you and whoever to settle in for the evening and have a basket of fried pickles with your brew and listen to live music.

Bristol is celebrating their 25th year in business and has a huge selection of beers, 6 of which are their flagships.

If you have a chance to get in there, try their Beehive, Red Rocket, Ivywild School, and Laughing Lab brews.

Brewer’s Republic

The Brewer’s Republic isn’t a brewery, but it is a taproom keen on bringing craft brews from all over the world in-house for people to try.

This is the perfect location if you want to try a variety of beers from pretty much anywhere but don’t want to visit a single brewery.

I also highly recommend their grilled cheese and tomato soup meal with whatever brew you choose.

And during the week, they do special beer tappings, trivia, and even yoga and beer nights. It’s well worth the visit if you want to just try everything from everywhere.

Oskar Blues Brewery

Oskar Blues Brewery is the home of the first crowler and don’t forget it.

The Colorado Springs grill and pub opened up in 2018 and they have a huge menu of beers, endless places to sit, and an incredible menu of Barbecue, American, and Cajun cuisine.

Please get the Boudin Balls, their delicious. If you can snag a table or seat downstairs next to their indoor bocce ball lanes, swoop up some grub, you’ll be in for a comfy and playful night in the center of the downtown Colorado Springs area.

There are TONS of breweries in Colorado Springs and you will have no problem finding a good one.

These are just my favorite ones to visit when I’m feeling peckish for a beer or missing my Colorado Craft beer community.

Whichever brewery in Colorado Springs you choose to visit, it’s certain you will have an enjoyable time and meet some great people in the process.

Who knows, you may even become a regular.
